Where do you buy
Like it says where do you buy to get that price cause the bank won't give you that price or do you have an American bank account and then you get it at market value?

I have my RRSP/RIF Accounts with BMO ... my Financial Advisor got me set up to access the on-line Foreign Exchange trading, the rate is a bit better than standing in line at the bank & it's convenient, you transfer $1,288.00 CDN dollars into a designated account, pull the trigger (which I did) at any time during the day (example when it was at $.7869 or $1.2874) and $1,000.00 USD shows up in my US account the following morning.
This morning when I checked the rate is down a bit @ $.7851 or $1.2901.
Hope this helps ....
D.

Wife and I were just talking about this yesterday, trying to decide if we should go a bit in now, or wait and see if it keeps moving up. I've got a pretty good US account in my portfolio now, will have to talk to the Smart Guys down at Jarislowky Fraser and see what they suggest.....

Language from the Bank of Canada is pointing to another interest rate increase likely in the fall...that would move our dollar up further

I emptied everything when it was $1.35. I am going to wait until it is $.85 before I buy again. Easiest way there is to make money other than picking bottles after a concert lol

The better half is off to Arizona in November so I think I will get into the bank next week and buy some Donald bucks. Not a whole bunch just enough to keep her down there until I cant see over the top of the laundry pile. David.

Alberta net debt is quadrupling to $44 billion.
I can't see this rise continuing unless interest rates go up 0.5% soon.

0.80175 right now, I am thinking of buying $10,000 USD today but trying to find the best deal. Where do you guys go?
RBC won't do it for a non-customer, they have to 'order in the money'.

Cambridge Global Payments.
Usually they only add 30 basis points. But sometimes you can get a better deal than what you are seeing as they transact on the live market and rates can flunctuate quite a bit.
I have asked for a overnight bid that will result in the final exchange rate I want to pay (after their 30 points) and have had good results, if you're close.
So if you want hit a certain rate, let them know and you should be able to get your .80 rate.

Thank you very much.
I called ATB BMO RB TD BONS CIBS SYN cu and SERVUS cu
most of them wont sell cash for cash. You have to open an account there, and I get that. Lots of drug dealing is Paradise Valley lol.
Looking into Cambridge now.

The rising Canuck buck is not good for the economy as a whole. The west loses, the east loses, it's just bad. Ideally, the dollar should settle in at around 70 cents (US). The oil producers in the west, the manufacturers in the east, tourism, technology, etc. will all benefit more with a lower dollar than a high dollar.

That's fine, but I am going fishing.
I need yankee bucks to do it, and today was the day to buy.
Maybe a new thread on your topic would be a good idea. This thread is about exchanging foreign cash.
