Exclamation Hole in Nissan Altima undercarriage

So on my wife's 2005 Nissan Altima we discovered on the passanger side on the undercarriage metal it became so rusted that the metal just crumbled leaving a 11x14" hole to begin with the metal under the car is so thin it's maybe 1/16" thick same gauge as a tuna can top!

I'm wondering if this can be held under a recall of some sort?

Anyways will be calling the dealership tomorrow

Yes the car is old being a 2005 but that's crazy! You would think they would use a thicker gauge of steel under a vechicle apparently a friend of mine has seen it on another older Nissan Altima

If it is under the passenger side floor area (where the feet would normally rest from the front passenger seat), that is a very common area to a Nissan to rust. Very unlikely that the dealership will do anything for you.

However, if it is in the rear aluminum subframe, they were very prone to corroding and cracking, and there was extended warranty on some I believe.
