Default Shore fishing at Gull Lake

Just home from work for a few days and thinking of taking the kids up to Gull. I've only ice fished there, so looking for a place to go where we could fish from shore with a chance of catching something.
Thanks

Not much of a chance. The weeds are coming on heavily.

That is a provincial park that needs to have a few fishing piers put in, so people can get their kids fishing.

There is a slim chance off the dock at the park as long as it's not too windy (floating dock). You will pull some weeds out now and then, but not too bad; far from good though. At least that's how it was a couple of weeks ago. I know I had my first and likely last trip that way I didn't go on a fishing trip, but figured that way is not worth the drive for me unless I have to like I had to this time.

We have a place on Gull and sometimes leave the boat in the slip and fish from shore.

We did that last weekend and MrDave is correct....too many weeds shallow.

Getting weeds on EVERY cast would really frustrate the little ones.

Thanks for the replies. Wound up going to Sylvan in Marina Bay and caught a few walleye. Kids had fun.

Some of the best fishing at Gull is 30 min before and after sunset.

And its in less than 3 ft of water along the shoreline.
