Default South Ram River Conditions

Hi all,

Seen other threads about river conditions for other rivers but didn't see one for the Ram. We're planning on going out this weekend for the opening weekend. We are planning of fishing downstream of the falls. Does anyone know what the water conditions are like? Didn't want to derail the other threads.

Thanks

DR

by looking at the river basin report from the gov't, the Ram at the mouth is flowing around 90m3/hr and rising where hi normal is around 60, so i would say it is totally blown out and unfishable. probably best to make other plans for fishing around there.

Yep, I concur. 90 is a big blowout. It was looking okay at the start of the week but mother nature has intervened. Even the upper Highwood is getting higher....sigh.

I think I'll skip opening weekend.

Drove out Friday evening simply out of curiosity. River was flowing a little faster then normal and water was murky brown. Have to wait a couple weeks and try again.

Just wondering if anyone has being out there lately and seen the conditions. With last week being so nice I was hoping to try it this comin weekend. There were a couple storms that moved through the area, hopefully that didn't bring it up too much. Any info is always appreciatated.

Thanks

Thanks for the update. Might take a drive out there early Sunday morning. Would be fishing downstream of the falls. Never hurts to try.

Default Update

Update - Went out Sunday morning. Water was clear and at a good level. Fished for 7 hours. Managed 8 fish. One really good sized one. Beautiful country. Had a couple different heards of rams watching from the hillsides as we fished. Couldn't ask for a better day.
