Default Trapping on the family farm

My dad spent his teen years trapping and it basically paid for all of his hunting gear.

He got out of it when he got married and I never learnt the trade.

Do I need a license to trap on the family farm or farms in the area. Would love to learn how to do this so I can past this skill on to my kids down the line.

Beaver can be trapped on private land as a nuisance, muskrats you need a license for.

. $400 to go get some rats and beavers. Frustrating that we have gotten to such a point.

Still feel we should be able to manage the wildlife a small bit on our land.

I guess that idea is dead

you can trap the beaver with out a licence on the farm

"Beaver may be hunted and trapped, without a licence and during all seasons, on privately owned land by the owner or occupant of the land, or by a resident with written permission from the owner or occupant of the land."

Trap the beaver, have some fun and be careful.
Shoot the coyotes.
Maybe a local or local youth that's geared up , certified and wants to trap muskrats on your property ?
