Default 25-35 wcf

Just a question for you people that know more about this gun that I do.. I didnt buy this gun yet. So let me explane it , it need a new butt stock the blueing is not bad 50/60 %. Havent looked at the inside of the barrel. I would have to say 40% overall. What would be a price for something like this, with this information. One other thing, would it be a good starter gun for a 12 year old girl.Any comments would be helpful....

Just about all 25-35 were in the 1894 lever action.

Just a thought but a Stevens 200 in .243 would probably cost about the same and has more ammo choices available for it. Unless you are getting the gun very cheaply the price of a new butt stock plus other possible parts could add up to more than the Stevens 200.

No doubt! The 25-35 is one of the 30-30s progeny but isn't very popular today. The Savage in a 243 or 25/06 would be a better choice for the young shooter.

I got a spent 25-20 cartridge I found in the bush. Gone with the dinosaurs too.

what make and model??? can you provide any pics,
I imagine its a lever action , probably savage modle 99, if rebuilt it may worth up to $800 or $900, as for a beginer light deer rifle it will work just fine, at closer ranges out to 200 yrds, very low recoil, but a nice little shooting rifle , i have a freind in Fort nelson who has one he let his daughter use it as a beginer rifle, she shot a 48 inch bull moose wth it last fall,

Call around first for a stock for the rifle. If it is a model 94, you might be disappointed.

If it is a model 99, it might be easier to get a stock.

Due to the facts you have stated, and the lack of 25-35 win ammo at Canadian Tire, it will be a bit of a chore for you. There are better choices with a lot less hassle, but the 25-35 win will do the job.....

If you get a chance to post some pictures Im sure a few of us could give you the value of the rifle so you don't get hosed on the price......
