They are most likely are suggesting a 400 spine. But given your draw lenght and assuming you'll be using a 100 grain point, your overall arrow weight should be right around 400 grains. Google arrow spine and the Easton Arrow chart and do some reading. It will explain it better than I can.

As far as the arrow question goes, you can figure out a lot of arrow info if you look here: http://www.huntersfriend.com/carbon_..._chapter_1.htm

Or here: http://www.carbonexpressarrows.com/shaft-selector

Also you can head to the archery center or Jimbows with your bow and they will set you up with some great arrows.

Also don't be shy to ask questions of the people shooting at either shop. Most of us are pretty helpful and happy to share our knowledge.

Welcome to the archery community!

I try and find that perfect balance between speed and kinetic energy. There is web sites that you can see the difference in weight of the arrow vs speed vs kinetic energy. This is what I use to figure out my arrow weight for a hunting arrow.

any where between 400-500 is good hunting weight, any lighter the wind will bow your arrow off target

.400 spine carbon arrows will typically range between 8 - 9 grs per inch. A 28 inch arrow with standard nock, insert, 2" blazer vanes and a 100 gr point will weigh somewhere in the vicinity of 400 grs......all in. There is nothing wrong with that for a hunting weight for any animal you can hunt in AB. If you desire more weight or more front end guidance go up to 125 gr points. That's really all you need concern yourself with right now. Play around with different point weights after selecting your arrows.......keeping in mind that 100 and 125 grs is the most common broadhead weight.
