Default Winter camping around Lloydminster

Just like the title says, I'm looking for somewhere within an hour to hour and a half of Lloydminster to take my boy winter camping. New to it, but would like to get out with him and some snowshoes. Any suggestions would be good. Thanks AO

It's closer to 2 hours but up by Cold lake on public land would offer great winter camping.

Not sure about access around Lloyd but I suggest the north saskatchewan river valley and it's ravines can be hidden gems. Further upstream. Pockets of parkland wilderness worthy of exploring on snowshoes...200 years ago and presently. Be careful. Don't snowshoe right on the creeks or rivers. Potential to go thru the ice is always there.

Do you specifically want to camp or will something like this suffice?

When, and how long? I may be able to help...

Bronson forest has lots of out of the way spots to camp, snowshoe into one of the small lakes along the Monnery river for ice fishing.
