Bruce Lake?

Hey folks, just wondering if anyone has fished bruce lake this year. I'm about 100 yards out from the white house with the little boat launch.

Using quick strike rig with smelts in 7 ft of water about a foot off the bottom. Is this okay or does anyone recommend a different spot/tactic? I'm targeting pike.

Dont know if there is fish in first lake but second lake does and fish in 1-3 feet of water
