South Country BBQ a big hit!

I just wanted to thank everyone who attended our second annual BBQ, and a special thanks to all those that helped out in any way to help make it a great success! We almost doubled the ticket sales from last year. The trap shoot (men's in particular) is getting to be very competitive and we introduced an event popular in the States, ladies' cast iron skillet toss, which was well received. Gary Godberson from Drayton Valley did a great job running our kids' rat skinning contest and Gordy Klassen was our celebrity judge for the skillet toss.
Special thanks to Bruce and Judy Mackintosh and Rod and Sarah Graham for selling so many tickets, and their help during the event. Additional thanks to Brent Sinclair for finding and grilling the steaks when our BBQ guy had to back out; Ron and Lois Maloney for helping out; and to the Sundre and Drayton Valley locals for their generous donations. Hope I didn't forget anyone!
Congratulations to John Hunter, an SCTA member from Calgary, on winning the gun raffle!
When I get organized I will post some photos...This event will be bigger and better next year, so mark down July 4-6th, 2014, in your calendars!
