Default .410 Shells

Cabela's and P&D are sold out with nothing coming down the pipe. What other companies would be a good place to source them?

Lots of videos on YouTube about how to reload 410 with simple tools.
That might be the only option for the foreseeable future. Hasn’t been any 410 available for a long time now.

I see them on a regular basis, but limited amounts, with limited selection, but prices have gone stupid, $30 or more in most cases. I have seen more in Canadian Tire stores, than anywhere else lately. With the cost of components now, it costs me about $9 per box to load, last year was under $6.

Default .410 shells not available to-day at Cabela's in Calgary

If you are going to re-load to hunt. I use #4 lead and 17.6 gr. of l'lil gun and am very happy with the results.

I’m on the hunt for some as well. Cousin from NWT that is evacuated lost his cabin and all his ammunition. I donated to hike as much 410 and 22LR as I could spare so his grandchildren have some rounds for hunting chickens again at some point. He has essentially said, find me whatever you can and price be damned.

Last I saw at p&d was $36 and they were gone in a day.

Save up your empties and learn to reload. Pretty much the way of everything now.

Prophet River advertised 10 flats of Remington 410 target loads at $230/flat and they were gone in a couple of hours. I saw them list three flats of 410 AA target loads at $220/flat, so I bought them before someone else did. ¹

I recently discovered that at least one gun shop had stock and chose not to list it online and have 1 person buy it all. Their price was so high that you'd have to be pretty desperate but I bought 3 boxes of 25 anyway. Guess I thought I was desperate. lol

Be sure to call around, and not just trust what you're seeing listed (or not listed) on a web store. I only recently got back into 410 having found a shotgun I actually wanted this time. Before I figure out how/where to find ammo @ -$25/box (if such a thing exists) I have to figure out whether or not I shoot this gun well. Figuring that out is the first financial hurdle. lol

Cases were 20 boxes, flats are 10 boxes, I haven't seen cases in many years. The 20 round boxes were limited to a couple of companies.

Default hair splitting flat/case

Rem .410 black hull 20rd come 10 boxes to a flat[200rds] opposed to 25rd green hull 10 to a flat [250rds]? Challenger comes in 20 boxes to a case and 25rds per box as does Sterling.[500rds ]Your point? A case of beer here is a 12pk in the East that's a 24. You can't count them if you don't have them I guess?

The point is that the industry standard changed from the 20 box case, to the 10box flat many years ago. This is true regardless of gauge. The industry standard is also a 25 round box. Yes there are a few exceptions, but those are the industry standards.

I have found the odd box, but not what i need. Dad's passing me my uncles old 410 with a clip. It takes 2 3/4" shells only. This gun may be mothballed for while.

410 is either 2-1/2", or 3".

And I'm just now getting my first look at it. Its stamped for both 2 1/2 and 3".
I think they found the 3: a bit tight in the clip.
I get to play around with it this weekend!

Last time in Cabela's I was surprised to see more 28 gauge than 410.....haven't seen that before.
Looks like the Cooey 28 gauge will see chicken duty this year.

I see 410 ammo regularly going for north of $ 50 a box on auction.

I have also heard that making your own out of 444 brass is the way to go.

Add rifle primer, bit of shotgun powder, wad, your lead and a sealed top.

Trying to find some lead somewhat locally right now to try this out is the problem right now. Getting a 25 lb bag of lead shipped won't be fun.

Haven't bought 410 shells for years. Fireformed some from 303 case's worked OK (kinda ugly lookin) Then came across a bunch of 444 cases, they worked really well for me Then a while ago I got some 9.3x74 which I picked up in a gravel pit range They're the cats pyjamas for 3" 410 Loaded with Herco or nearly any fast powder and home cut wads (what else is a 7/16 punch good for?) some 4 or 6 shot and they lethal to the sharptails. I just can't seem to make myself spend big $ on something this easy to reload and fun to shoot!!

One box limit on AA? Considering they are a target load, that is only one round of skeet.

What Wallz said,
Long Colt 45 brass will also work.
As I’ve tried messing with spent 410s and without a crimp tool, I’m lost, ha.

I just ordered 200$ of 410 shells from an online ammo seller.. I'm hesitant they actually have it in stock and didn't just take money from me and send me an email saying "will be shipped once in stock".

We will see
