Hide tanning

I may be getting 3 buffalo hides this week that I would like tanned with hair on. who in western Canada would be a good place to check out about doing that job?? I'm looking to make robes out of them. I'm also willing to travel some...

I talked with them on the phone already. They wanted $22/sq ft for under 45 sq ft, and $30/sq ft of over 45 sq ft... Western fur tanners was $19/sq ft regardless of size.

Only other place less expensive , so far, was mountain fur tannery in bc at $17/sq ft. But that $2 difference is quickly eaten up by transit costs...

I'm almost inclined to go to edmonton and take them there... Call the drive an overdue visit to a buddy of mine there...

Interestingly enough, all but one guy I talked to today was trying to buy the hides from me or make a deal for some of them.
