Finally got the GF to try fishing!

After almost 2 years of staying at home and sulking while I go fishing she finally decided to give it a try. So after $150 at wholesale sports on friday I got her all kitted out with a pink tackle box, handfull of lures, ugly stick rod and pflueger reel!
Took an evening off swathing at the farm and came in to take her out for some training at nicolas sheran. Sure enough she put me to shame when her first cast hit the water 15' feet away with authority and instantly hooked a pike with a weedless lure!

we both caught a few small pike before calling it a night, was a great way to spend a evening!

Nice work.....baby steps. In no time you are going to have someone who wants to out fish you all the time!

Nice work. Hope she keeps to it.

I was lucky to marry me a fisher woman. She grew up fishing which made it easier to talk her into buying a boat a few years ago.

Always a great time to fish with her.

Yup she got quite the rush with her first fish even tho it was only a 12" pike! I think she's hooked and hope she keeps at it. A few more training trips to Nicolas or Henderson and she'll be ready for Keho. Next step talkng her into a boat for sure!

always let her catch the first fish, it helps

took mine to the river yesterday and she had a 3 foot sturgeon before my bait even hit the bottom. wait til your lady catches a 3 or 4 foot long pike, thats the time to pop the question. (boat that is)

I love fishing with my husband and for the most part I can hold my own

I do feel bad that his fly fishing has turned into work with me. I told him I'd rather read a book while he enjoys himself. The man doesn't need to share everything with me!!
