Default Dumb question on game birds with .22s!

Went and chased some grouse around the other day with a good friend, we were both using .22s. I was using a CZ with a 10 round mag, and he was using a 10/22 with 10 round mag. Afterwards, he commented on having a full magazine. I understand for shotguns, 3 shell limit - 2 in the pipe, 1 in the chamber. Does any of this rule apply to .22's or can I load a full mag?

Thanks,
Duncan

[QUOTEGAME BIRD

It is unlawful to

hunt any game bird using
a shotgun in which the magazine and chamber combined will hold more than three rounds of ammunition,
a trap, or
bait.][/QUOTE]

It's not just a limitation of three rounds in a shotgun. The shotgun must be plugged to not allow any more than two in the magazine and one in the chamber.

To my knowledge there are no two round magazines for a .22

Don't read into the regulations what isn't there

No mag restrictions on rimfires for game birds.

A full mag is fine for rimfire. However since you mentioned a 10/22 make sure you only have a 10 round mag or a larger mag pinned to 10 rounds as the RCMP have declared 10/22 mags as pistol mags because they also fit the charger pistol. This makes it a prohibited device.
Yet a 25 round mag in a Remington 597 is fine.

Yes there is.....I had to bury my 25 round mags because they are bad guy mags or something like that......that being said to the OP you are good to go with the Ruger 10 round mag.
