Default Your Hunting Dog Pics! Lets See Them!

Lloyd has made it home, super pumped. Now the fun really starts!

Who else has a new pup this spring summer?

Lets see them, or any of your hunting pups for that matter.

Best of luck with your new addition! So much work goes into effectively training a hunting dog, but the rewards are more than worth it. My guy is 6 weeks shy of his 4th birthday.

My pooch Tred is a bench bred springer with a grandfather from a hunting line. He’s never going to be the bird dog a field bred springer could be but he does just fine. He has to live in the city with three little kids and has been a perfect fit for us. He will be two this fall so last year was his first on birds.

These are that last of many through the years. The Setter was put down last Sept. and the Lab in early may. Both due to age. There will not be any replacements for the first time in over 50 years. Gets to a point where they just may outlive me now and I am content with my decision.

Only when hes asleep, right now hes a bundle of pent up destructive energy. After an unplanned vet visit this weekend I was told not to walk him or play aggressively until his wound heals. Anyone who owns a puppy knows this is the only way they tier out. Hopefully tomorrow we can go for a long walk so he sleeps well.
God I miss sleep.......

Different sort of hunting dog I suppose but here’s my pup Remi with his first wild shed. He’s doing really good with it for only being 10 months old. By next spring he’ll be a shed machine.

Second pic is with my older girl Ally. I had knee surgery that spring so we never got out until May. She found the set and I found the single while plodding along with a brace and walking stick.

I’d post pics of my long gone pal with some finds who started me on this shed dog thing all by himself but I’d probably just tear up. Lol

Finally worked up the courage to take Lloyd out to the real world for some training. Recall, Intro To Live Birds, and intro To Gunfire all went extremely well.
