Gee only 43 posts....! this guy can't have any credibility.... lol funny how some guys think that the number of post makes you smarter... the old addage of being seen and not heard is a blessing...

we appreaciate the info on the bald eagles... no matter where it comes from..

Why would a fellow be trying to drum up memberships for a rod & gun club in the lowermainland of B.C. on a Alberta hunting site?

Read the post saddle up, it had nothing to do with his credibility. The comment was all his posts, except for a couple, they were a direct link to the riverman club site. Its like he is fishing here to get AO guys to check out their site, in hopes to drum up membership.
We have an ongoing issue here with free advertising and solicitation, and this seems to fall into that catagory to me. If they want to drum up memberships, they should do it the old fashon way, not by piggy-backing on an an allready sucsessfull forum.
Good thing we only have to see some of the posts, and not hear them, I agree!

I, for one, appreciate your posts Darrin, and find the links you provide interesting.
I also appreciate you putting a short descriptive note on the subject matter that the link leads to, so that AO members can make an informed decision as to whether to 'leave' the forum and follow your link - or not.

IMO too many of members simply post links with 'Gotta see this! ' or 'Great video!' or 'Don't know what to make of this?' as the title - with no hint as to what the content of the link is.

its a funny thing
#1 there are no open memberships and there never will be.(its just a group of friends who started a club)
#2 there is nothing on the site for sale nor will there ever be.
#3 let the mods do their job, we have already talked and this is what they had to say

I went through your website and see that you aren't really competing with AO. I see a few links to some of our competitors, but like you mentioned you have a link to AO also. That's fine in my books.

I will mention to the other guys here that I OKed you to have your link.

By the way I like seeing the news stories you guys have been sharing with us.

The way I look at is, there are 3 kinds of people that visit forums. (Which I am all 3)
1. Surfers
2. Reply posters
3. Thread starters (is there really a forum without?)

That being said I guess I get a little frustrated with the negative comments, all I have been doing is sharing information that I found on the web that I feel may interest others. (Without people starting new posts forums could get pretty stale).

I think that pretty much covers it, so my apologies to anyone that has taken offense to my past posts linking to other websites.

Darrin cleared it up pretty good Trav. If the mods say hes good to go, end of story. IMO he was doing the same thing that got a lot of other threads closed down, but aparantly thats not the case. All good.
