I have spent quite a bit of time in WMU 400 but actually havent killed anything there myself. Seen a few blackies I've considered stalking and lots of cow elk and tons of moose and mulies, but no tags in hand....

Hunted 400 quite a few times, lots of challenges there, anything taken in that country is a trophy.

Default Cow Elk

Not really "trophy", as some call it, but one of my all-time favorites - my first ever cow elk, which happened to have been collared.

F&W told me that she had been aged at about 7 1/2 years. She was a good sized cow. I've take a few bulls from the 400, as well, but she ranks right up there as one of my best. My 9 year old son was beside me when I shot it. My Dad and I worked this cow just perfectly. And my cousin was also there as a "strong back".

Does that Bear have a tag in his right ear? If so what did it say?

I bow-killed a tagged blackie in 402 in May 2008. I didn't even see the tag until I walked up on him, as it blended in quite well with his blonde fur. The tag had "S126" on one side, then "Do not eat" and a 1-800 number on the other. After some calling around and digging, I got some info on him. Turns out he was captured near Water Valley the previous summer after raiding bird feeders on a ranch, and was relocated to the southern edge of Kananaskis. He had travelled pretty far by the time I got him.

Default Whitetail 3x3

Here is my submission:

1 Whitetail buck, opening day at 7:20a.m

He is my first Whitetail buck EVER! I have had ample opportunity's at them, but just couldn't connect. He is my first ever mountain animal. He has super dark brown hershy chocolate antlers. I was up from the sept.17 for a week elk hunting, but wasn't successful. Never tried it before, but it was amazing.

Here is just 2 pictures I took at the base of Mount Dorathy on BC border. That whole walk was about 15km - there and back. It was up in North lost. Awesome country. Saw bull moose too, grunting TONS!. WICKED!

Next picture ---> Mt. Dorathy is behind me and I was 7 km away down and to the right on the other side of the mountains.

I think I might have trail cam pics of this bear around water valley I will have to try and find them and see if I can read the number on the ear tag what color was the tag
