Are you certain that they are worms and not just small leaches, which would be quite common starting at this time of the year.

Caught one at Canyon Creek on Sunday that had several worm like squirmy things on it. They were still alive after 3 hours or more laying in the snow.

I caught a bunch at gull the other day they look like small shrimp but think they are little leeches.

Cant seem to attach pics but may be blood worms. About inch long and red to pail red in colour.
