Default Three things your buddy shouldnt touch!!!

your Ride...your ole Lady....and FORSURE your bow....lol

Had three bows brought in... in the last week that were blown up...
All from a shooters buddy drawing bow and dryfiring the bow...

all were said to have been told to be careful and whatever they did do not let go of the string...

Thing is gang ...these modern bows if drawn without an arrow and anchor is creeped a little on string at full draw...its gonna gooooooooo!!!

Without an arrow its a dryfire...which results in broken strings, cams, idler wheels and limbs...

These last three were fourtunate...no broken or cracked limbs...all three had Fubar-ed strings...one cam and strings..and one just strings...

So Rule one...keep buddy's away from bow...lol

If you are going to let buddy draw bow...MAKE sure its with an arrow loaded and pointed in a safe direction...at least if there is an accidental miss fire bow will not be damaged...you may have to panic to see where arrow went thou...lol

Be safe ...its too close to hunting season...

Neil

Always roll the axles on a piece of glass too, occasionally they can bend from the dry fire.

I usually have an old 35lb bow I always take with me in case anyone wants to shoot my bow. It keeps them in clouded, and if it ever blew up, it wouldn't be nearly as heartbreaking as losing my Hoyt during the season.
It is nice to bring it along to shoot with my daughter, or a buddy that doesn't bow hunt. More fun for everyone.

Neil,

do you still have the odd guy come in and ask for an overdraw to be put on their bow? bet it makes you chuckle a bit before you tell them what has transpired since their last bow?

Not to put on overdraws ...but adjust them still with the old prong launchers....I show them the best way to adjust them...wheeeeee...lol

Many rests like the Ugly cookie...[WB] are in fact overdraws...

seems like all those military guys are used to firearms, maybe best to keep them away from the sticks and strings???
