They are a decent rod and there are many others in the 100-200 dollar range as good or better.

If you watch Kijiji there is generally at least a couple low end rods for sale cheap. Often you can score the whole outfit including some flies for less than the cost of a new TFO.

Professional series and the bvk are both great rods to learn on

It doesn't get any better than the link I posted. If she doesn't like it you could sell that used and get most all of your money back.

I doubt you are going to find everything you need cheaper and girls like new over used 99 times out of 100.

I would definitely consider the link posted. They also have a similar package at Costco (except I think it's a 4 piece).

My gf got one and she loves it. Comes with everything you need to get started (minus flies).

LOL, I'm the one selling the marado rod on kijiji for 90$ and its no where near as good of a deal then the link above ! The reel offered is a way better quality then what I have and you get an extra fly line, tapered leaders, chest pack, fly box and lets not forget the emergency whistle. It is double the price of what I'm asking but well worth it for the extra stuff. This is a no brainer (did I mention that I'm the one selling on kijiji ? )
