Default To sell or not?

I just got a new 7mm and a guy from work said he'd give me 400 for my old 270 win. It's a xtr with a short syn stock.I was going to put it away for the boy but he's only four and it would be a few years before he could shoot it.I was thinking if when and if he wants one we can go and pick out one he wants and maybe something a little easier on the recoil.What to do? Sell it or put it away?Is it worth more then 400?

Why not keep it as a spare,that way you always have a back up rifle sighted in and ready to go.

I would say keep it, it's not costing you anything sitting in the gun safe..

A mod 70XTR is worth more than a mere 400 bucks. If it's a shooter, keep it. If you're not attached to it, try and get a few more bucks, like 600, then you have a decision.

as long as the new gun is of similar color and she doesn't see the cc statement then you are smooth sailing. If it is a different color just say you had it re polished and changed the rotator splint.

If she does notice its a new gun then she is probably into guns and then you are ok

You are right there 53, but that only applies to certain calibers and I'm sorry to inform you but those are the calibers you are in possession of.. So be careful what you buy, cuz it may be unsellable...;

Most of the guns I sold, I now regret it. Like that ol' Savage 24c, a .22 x .410 over & under. At that time I figure it's gotta go, now some dude like gramps73 really wants one, bad. What about that Win 70 Fw in .257 Bob that wouldn't shoot better that 1.5", maybe I shoulda gave it a better run at it.

I have the old mans browning lever in .243 that has the boys name all over it.That gun will never leave the family that's for sure.I shot my first deer and moose with it.I sold the .270 I bought it used and really wasn't all that attached to it.Bought it for 350 with the scope and sold it for 420 and a box of reloads with no scope.
