Nice, now to have him and Jean work out a merger and turf the orange plague!

We will see if he's serious about uniting the right or if he's all about Jason Kenny. I'm guessing the latter. Hopefully something can be worked out, I'm not comfortable with the right being split again.

I worry with all the infighting he has already caused in the PC party, this sure won't help them. Our only hope now is likely a merger with the WR and Brian as the leader. But I doubt if Kenny's huge ego will ever let that happen.

Agreed ^
But I still got a major hate-on for those ******* PC's, and what they did to Alberta in their last years of governing

Hopefully he does blow up the PC. They are still the same old guard that was behind Redford.

Brian Jean has already stated he will step down for a election to choose the new leader of the new party whatever it is called and whatever colours they fly.

This is the first big step in a number of steps needed to bring Alberta back to where it should be.
Good Job Jason and let's see what Monday brings.

There is the quandary, Jean for Premier, Kenney and the PCs for extinction. the longer this feud plays ot the more likely we'll have another 4 years of the Gang that can't shoot straight.

I have no question in my mind that Kenney is nothing short of an opportunist career politician. Cut from the same cloth as Redford and the likes. Probably as fiscally conservative as a teenager with their first paycheck.
Frankly, he's the exact opposite of the sort of leadership this province needs. Need someone with the gall to put a foot to the public sector unions, and make the uncomfortable cuts. To not make the popular decisions, but the appropriate ones that have a long term benefit in the end. A guy like Kenney, it's all about keeping face and getting elected for another term. No thanks.

Whats the vote count?
It appears that the news media has decided that at least for the time being that we do not need to know the vote count.

I'm pretty sure its a pre-requisite. I hear its mandatory to eat the brownies at the membership table.

I have said before and say again ... don't underestimate the resiliency of the PC's. BJ seems eager to come to the mountain. No doubt the PC's have learned from the trip to the woodshed.

Wow, that's not a lot of votes to determine a leader of a political party. I'm wondering if there were a lot of intentional abstainers...

This is due to a system that was created to undermine Kenney.
There were 15 delegates from each riding that were elected by the members of said riding. The delegates are the ones who voted today.

Keeping that in mind what needs to happen is a transparent and open merger between the 2 parties and then another leadership race for the merged parties.
In doing that the PC's must purge the old entitled old guard as well as the red tories like that useless strumpet floor crosser sandra jansen. The WR also needs to shed the deadweight of intolerant bigoted idiots that have cost them during an election.
Bring togeather a cohesive right wing party that encompasses fiscal responsibility and good governance in the next 6 months so that party can begin fundraising for when the writ drops for the next hustings so the NDP can be kicked to the gutter where they belong.

One way to pull it off without a merger would be to have the PC's only run in urban ridings, and Wildrose in rural. Form a coalition for the next 4 years...

I remember when Kenny was a regular guy selling memberships for the Canadian Taxpayer Federation. I bought one from him. He ran for MP got himself elected and the ego and quest for power grew. He really hasn't done a lot for the taxpayer in a positive light.
He will never unite the right nor will he be able to lead a united right. His ego and quest for power at any cost is to big. His party is the Jason Kenny Party!

As a side note, I noticed that the PC's have changed their logo. Are they trying to confuse or trick the voting public by going with orange? Check out their webpage: https://www.pcalberta.org. The NDP's page isn't even that orange: http://www.albertandp.ca

Good to hear.
I wish Jason Kenny the best and Brian Jean also whatever they choose.
I would like it if they joined and took the best from both parties.

Coalition governments are BAD.....Germany is a perfect example....if Canada election system went with proportional representation we would get the same....just imagine a united federal NDP/Green coalition government putting the Socialist boot heel to Canadian's throats.....

Interesting times ahead. I suspect any merger will not embrace all the things that should be done, it is politics, it will require compromise. Nobody will get everything they want.
