I haven't been there in years, but last I heard it was infested with stickleback minnows.

Hassee is a seagull poop infested slough now. It’s been disgusting for years now.

Hasse hasn't been stocked with trout for years now.
Pike were stocked in the lake to combat the millions of 3" perch.

Wow thank you for the info! I didn’t know that they don’t stock this lake anymore with trout. This lake used to be a great little lake for trout fishing 10-20 years ago! Only short drive from the city, I remember going there after work for a few hours of peace and quiet and I had never come home empty handed! Used to have a nice size trout, I personally was catching 12-16” fish there.
Time have changed I guess...

There could be jumbo perch in there, I really doubt it though.
I haven't fished it since they put the pike in.

Netting showed no pike either or any other fish except for minnows. ACA is looking at a long term plan to rehab the lake by reducing the phosphorous, adjacent landowner agreements, and possibly aeration. Someone suggested a while back putting a couple of skunks on the island to reduce the gull population. Interesting strategy but I doubt that's part of the ACA plan. Hope ACA has the money and resources to follow through with a plan. It used to be a popular trout fishery.
