Need a gun

Hi Guys,

I need some opinions on a good all around gun(Deer, Moose, Elk). My buddy is buying a new gun and is in the market for something between $1500, and $2000 total including gun, scope, and rings. He is thinking something with a little more "jam" than my model 700 30-06. Some input/suggestions on caliber and brand would be very appreciated. This thread has probably been started about 100 times, so this will be 101. Thanks for your patience and input in advance.

Will never part with my .338 Win mag, just load 180gr for deer, 210s for elk/moose, mines a ruger M77 mark 2 with a rubber Hogue stock/full length aluminum bedding block, Bushnell Elite 4200 5-15x, deadly accurate out to 500m with good handloads if you put in the time at the range

Well my impulsive buddy bought a Tikka T3 in 7mm RM. Bushnell 4200 3x9 scope. Seemed like the logical choise shopping today.

I'm a day late, but I would have said a .338 Win Mag as well.

yep, what he said,

but i'd change the scope to the burris ff2 with the ballistic plex reticle (same money)...thats the caliber and gun to go with though...
