Not allowed for what and under what rules? i'm confused.
Anyway we use something like that on our ambulance in our fire hall. Its not hooked up to the block heater due to the fact that its parked indoors but its hooked up to our electrical system. It ejects the plug if we forget the moment the unit is started. Works very well.

Default New invention???

Don't want to discourage your Dad, but they have been around for years. . .

One manufacturer is Kussmaul Electronics-they make a yellow coloured one called the Auto-Eject. They work with a small solenoid that pushes out the plug when energized from the starting circuit. You can also get them for compressed air lines that are connected to trucks. Automatically ejects the compressed air line when the vehicle is started.

Who knows, maybe your Dad's is a better version and will sell quite well. Always nice to see a good product get to market. Good luck with your marketing.

Reminds me of the time I was coming home, to pass my wife headed the other way, dragging a fifty foot extension cord under the car.
