Default homestead

I figured that today would be a beauty day to hit up homestead range because the foul weather would deter the hoards of people that usually pack the benches on sunny days. But to my suprise the snow/rain didnt scare anybody away. By the time i left all of the benches were full and more people arriving. Does anybody know of any other spot a guy can go? I wont mind paying a fee if it means i can shoot from a bench. Preferably with a longer range than 100 yards.

Only thing I miss about that range is all the brass I scavenged off the ground... I could have made a killing in scrap metal thanks to that place...

Default what is the road like in Homestead?

Anyone been out there since the snow? I want to go to sight in a rifle, but do not drive a 4X4, only a lowly Mazda 5 with snow tires.

The one hill on the way up to the range can be slick, with the freeze/thaw/snow we have had over the last few days, and that being a north slope, it ain't likely to help.

I was out on Tuesday. The road was fine. Bit of snow, bit of ice, bit of mud. The Safari (RWD) didn't have any problems. Biggest problem I had was getting stuck behind a cattle drive on the way home.
