Rats on poles is a sound concept. A few years before the Hagz came on the scene, I was introduced to the method with Sudden Valley clips by the PA Fox trapper, Phil Brown. He was running to North Dakota trapping rats in the spring using solely fiberglas poles w Duke 1 1/2 coils, and absolutely lambasting the rats on them, thru the brief $10 rat run we had. He was pulling in excess of 200 rats per day and was making a killing!
I used the Sudden Valley system extensively and was having 130+ rat 3/4 days. I posted some Sudden Valley rat pole videos on this forum quite a while back but photobucket went stupid and destroyed their service.
If I was to do it again, it would be all Hagz, 100%
Floats are too much to carry in stable water. A good thing tho for fluctuating water conditions tho.
