Default Archery questions... Arrow related

Hey gang,

I was shooting the other day and kept putting field points through my blazer vanes in groupings.... This ultimately ended up ripping a few Blazers off, effectively ending my shoot.

Here are my questions...
1. Can I glue new vanes on?
2. Do you guys shoot with your hunting arrows (I'm using FMJs) or do you use other arrows throughout the practice season and switch to your hunting arrows closer to harvest season.

Thanks!

First off, yes you can glue vanes back on, I'd suggest using a jig such as an Arizona EZ fletch or a boehning fletching jig.
Secondly you can use either hunting or practice arrows so long as your hunting arrows are matched up with your sight for hunting season.
Lastly, stop shooting groups at close range and you won't have this problem. Get a 3 spot or a 5 spot target and use that. If you want to shoot groups, try it at 40+ yards and you should save some vanes.

Yea thanks Kurt. I was shooting to 40 when it happened a couple times, Switched to 50 and did it again... Good point on the 3 or 5 spot. I was actually sighting in a new setup so was to focused on the groupings I suppose. I'll be looking into a jig today!

X2 on Bohning Jigs...since Bohning makes Blazer vanes their jig is designed by people who know the vane well...

For offset..... http://www.bohning.com/blazerr-straight-str8-jig/

For helical... http://www.bohning.com/products/flet...fletching-jig/

Or one that does most vanes and arrows and is the right price...

Cant go wrong with any of these...
