If you do more reloading, try the Hornady 195 grain bullet, the 8x57 has the right twist and handles the heavy bullets better than the lighter bullets.. As Cat said, anything that can be taken with the 06 can be done with the 8x57.
I shot some 200 grain Sierra bullets, my Brno 8x57 likes any bullet above 170 grain. The 200 grain Nosler Partition will be a good moose killler and was very accurate in all the 8mm Mauser rifles I have owned.
