Default tip for monofilament line on a spinning reel

put as much mono on your spool as you want, take the spool with line off reel and put in warm water for about ten minutes, this will stop your line from jumping off your spool when you lift up the bail and stops some of the stretch from the line making it more sensitive. i found this out a few years back, saved me from un tangling my line every 4th cast.

Thought this might help someone

Its a good idea but I've never realy had that kind of problem with mono. If your having real problems you either spooled your line wrong or your getting line twist. A common cause of line twist that I've often seen is cranking the reel while the drag is slipping, avoid this as much as possible.

befor i used braid when i spoolednewline on it was so springy that when i lifted the bail the line would jump off the spool. I dont know if it was just cheep line or what but the warm water helped stop the spring to it and made the line stiff and more sensitive
