Hey kid, don't worry about it. Now you know how to avoid being a felon.

Have some fun at your secret spot and don't worry about the army of savage, ******n, pri*ks on these forums. They all spent 25 years gill hooking bull trout with barbed trebles before they alighted to their pedestals.

where does it state he is a kid as in a little person, many grown up people have living Dads?

its hardly a secret now, unless he plans on editting the location like he editted the bait

There is a difference between knowing when you are breaking the rules and not knowing.

I am sure Archer has learned something and won't repeat a mistake. More than likely, he will even inform others that may not be aware of specific rules for that section of water.

Please pick up a copy of the 2011 Alberta Sport Fishing Regulations and take the time to read it. You will see, bait is defined as

Quote:
means any substance that attracts fish by scent or flavour and includes a lure to which scent or flavouring has been added
You will learn much by reading these papers and it will be for the better. Thank you.

IMHO i think you have all been had by a classic poop disturber or rabble rouser for the old folks. What kind of low achieving IQ would give up a secret spot. If I'm wrong string him up by his noodly appendages and apply corporal punishment.

Thats classic. Way to go man, nothing like shooting yourself in the foot. Reloading and shooting yourself in the other foot LOL. But yes please read the regs before going anywhere. If you can not find what your looking for toss up a thread on here. You make take a little shot or two from some of the guys but it will save you a lot of trouble.

This thread has my vote for the AOF Darwin Award so far this year.....

its not like i haven't red the regs cover to cover but for me the regs were not clear about the bait and i didn't say we ate the fish, we used barb less hokes.

Pm sent. Dont let the guys bother you too much. It can get real complicated witht the regs sometimes. Just use this experience to learn something, and use this board and its members as a tool. Under all the comments and ribbing you will find a lot of great guys and information on here. If you are unsure then just start a thread asking or send a Pm to a member I know myself and lots of others are willing to help out. Good luck and stay safe out there man.

I give you the benifit of the doubt, kids make mistakes. What bothers me is that your dad is breaking the law also. As the adult, he needs to be responsible and know the regs and understand them so that you aren't doing anything wrong, and educating you on the rules. Learn from this, and as jst said, start a thread if you are not sure about something.

I think any section in that stretch of the bow is a secret spot when using bait...

either way, now you know and knowing is half the battle....(is that still a kid reference anymore? or just in America...)

a little ribbing is better than a fat ticket for using bait...I wouldn't take any sarcasm from this forum personally, in the end everyone is just happy that you now know the rules....as stated before there are a lot of people on this forum from your area that would be glad to show you how to still catch those fish in your spot without using bait...

i use a bag tote system so cross contamination is reduced

I am going to say yes. Though I have never had scented/unscented plastics in the same vicinity. What I did have though was an open bag of scented 4'' grub bodies that were in a plastic tray in my tackle bag years ago. The tray smelled like scent for quite a long time after.

What about when your eating KFC and some of that finger lickin' goodness gets smeared on your hook? I now wear surgical gloves while eating my KFC to reduce my cross contamination.

Anything that adds scent or flavor to your lure is bait and you will get ticketed by a conservation officer when caught.
