Thanks for starting a great thread Dick. Those are some fine Whitetails being shot out of your blinds.

Hope you and Cat connect on a cranker!

Thanks guys , the antlers are not overly huge but they are a very nice color,
Not that I Care about antlers , except that I like looking at them big or small
This was a tremendous hunt due to the tracking job that ensued but that is a story fir another a story for another day !
Also , although Dick and I have competed against each other in rifle comps since about 2001, this is the first time we have been able to actually hunt together

Good for you Dick for taking so many out. The camaraderie is the best part of hunting imo. My dad will be here tomorrow, our hunt starts Thursday.

Thanks Dave! The best part was formulating a plan on that field we saw them in and having it come to fruition exactly as we had hoped even to where we thought they would come out

Congrats! No deer was safe, There was likely over 100 years of hunting experience in that blind at one time

I love the hunting outfit, yeah I know it's also your everyday suit, but that's the beauty of it.
It's great for hunting and looks cool anywhere else. Plus it's warm, quiet and comfortable. And old school.

I don't have cool stuff like that so I have to make do with camo gear that never matches the environment I'm in.

Dandy buck too. I've got one just like it that I've been watching. I'm stick and string hunting this year and so far he hasn't come close enough for me to take a whack at him.

Awesome thread! Well done by all!

Cat, is that a #1 in 303 with open sites? Pretty cool tool for the job if that's the case!

it is actually a no.3 in 303, totally custom job done for me by Bill Leeper.
This rifle BTW was the inspiration for the Ruger No.1 in .303 with kudos going to Clay Smiley from Prophet River for pursuing the idea.
And yes, with the express sights ( scope has QD rings for the very purpose)
It is an awesome close cover rifle!

Yeah it sure does, but Dick has also done his homework, he has a room full of antlers and a bunch of others besides from the two areas, they weren't blundered into that's for sure!
The actual hunting part of his method is very small compared to the amount of time he puts into scouting, studying the terrain, building blinds, not to mention keeping up good land owner relationships
For me, it is the exact opposite for the most part, I hit the crown land, cut a track and hunt them down, or find a nice funnel and sit on it.
The problem with Dick's blinds up here is they would be destroyed or stolen in days on crown land!
