Default Small game in -30c

With 2 days left for grouse I was thinking of going out Wednesday for grouse and snowshoe hare. My question is am I wasting my time in -30? Will all the animals be hiding trying to keep warm? Just wait till next week and only hunt hare?

I will be in the Rimbey/Rocky area.

I was out several times in December with no luck. Lots of tracks. Very little scat.

If your out hunting it's never a waste of time, there's nothing like being out in the bush, dress for the weather and enjoy the day,

When it's cold grouse will maybe be in snow nests too. I have almost stepped on them before they lit. Impossible to see them.

With the hares if you are seeing lots of sign try sitting down for 30 minutes. The hares may start moving around after 15 or so minutes. I've walked through heavy sign and didn't see hares. Sat down and 20 minutes later 4 hares started moving around within eyeshot.
