Default Electronics and Christmas

How many people on this board can say they never needed a battery for any Christmas presents?

I can !!
I haven't bought nor received a chrismus present for bout 15 years now,
And thats the way I like it.
If I need or want something and I can justify buying it I do. I don't need any particular day on a calendar to dictate i should buy something.
I still do the chrismus dinner with my parents but thats about as festive as I get.
This time of year is just paid time off for me.

There is a reason, Wall-mart puts racks of them, all over the store.

No batteries needed this year, but in the past I've had stuff that needed them, but we usually put batteries in another present.

I don't think it's possible for any of the kid's toys to not need batteries. I think the only thing they got that doesn't need batteries is a table and chair set for eating at.

We like to make sure the gifts we give to the little ones light up & make noise. They seem to play with them longer that way. But the toys we have here for the Grandkids are all quiet ones.

Every year something needs batteries. GPS, Rangefinder, electronic caller, camera, flashlights, toys, power tools, all make the world a brighter place. Even my watch takes batteries. It's a lot better than carrying a sundial. It's also good for the economy to spend a few bucks once in a while.

I didn't give, or receive, anything that required batteries this year!

That made me very unpopular with the teenagers.

Most of the "Thomas the Tank Engine" wooden train set stuff doesn't use batteries. Some of the cars take them and some buildings take them, but it is pretty easy to avoid those items.
