Default how long to wait?

well i missed a coyote today and soon after i shot, up on the hill another coyote started doing a warning howl/bark. she did this for about five mins. and a male joined her. they ended up coming into about 400 yards but we didn't feel good about taking that shot. so we tried to get closer and long story short, a whole whack of coyotes started to do the warning howl/bark. they were still doing it wen we left. now i am wondering how long to wait to go back to that spot?

your guess is good as mine , but I would leave it sit for a couple days at least. Don't set up in exact same location and use a different sound / call when you go back ..Maybe position the non caller way out front and downwind too { 300-400 yds } hard to do but may put them right in his lap .. good luck and keep us posted ..

Sounds like they got wise to you. I find that when they start howling and yipping back like that, they aren't going to commit. I'd give it a week or so, then try again, only from a different ambush point. Keep them guessing. Good luck!
