Default fluting a barrel

Would like to get my heavy barrel Rem 243 fluted. Anyone I can contact or a gunsmith that does it? Maybe some spiral and just plain straight. Hoping to knock some weight off. It's over 10 pounds already with a Burris eliminater. Way too heavy to pack all day when I'm calling.

Not sure if David Henry does it, Rod Henrickson in Edmonton does for sure (straight flutes only), maybe AB Tactical can do helical for you.

Corlanes will do multiple types of fluting.

Here is a formula that will give you an approximate idea of the weight that will be removed.

That is some cool stuff. Aren't these the same guys that built O Neil ops coyote rifles. I ll have to measure my barrel.

Got a couple emails back for gunsmiths saying they would rather not touch a factory barrel. we are not equipped to stress relieve a barrel.
