There is also an endless amount of attachments for skid steers as well.
One advantage of a tractor is that if you are doing random chores with it you can still get in and out easily if you need to have the boom half-raised.
As for wheeled skid steers vs track machines for snow removal, tracked machines tend to ride up on the snow. This is less of an issue if you desire a hard-pack base, but if you want to scrape something clean a wheeled machine might do a slightly better job. All that being said, I still prefer a tracked machine for all-around tasks.
