I'm gonna go out on a limb and speculate that their R&D department just got a proverbial dose of steroids.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Instead of Suzuki motors, the wildcats are going to Yamaha motors. And the 700's are going to 800's.

Interesting. Textron owned Polaris until 1981. Good to see them back in the game.

Oh yes. They are throwing huge money already into some of their new units. Big things happening! They are coming out with a 130 hp motor in the Wildcat 2x. See ya later Canned Hamm

Yes they did. And down the road when it had recovered and was stable and profiting, the CEOs from Polaris bought it back.

All you have to do is follow the ABC's of powersports.
Anything
But
Cat
Or Polaris or Skidoo.

Going from a stand alone company focused on one thing to being part of a conglomerate where it's one of a thousand products doesn't always mean more money for development, more expertise, or more success. We can all give examples of that.

If it wasn't for Arctic Cat, Yamaha would not have a snowmobile division.
Yamaha gave the world the chiropractor friendly RX Ton, Apex and Nytro machines. Had power to weight numbers that made Caterpillar look light and nimble.

Textron operate a bit differently. I'm sure you will find that Polaris will enjoy almost complete autonomy with adequate resources and funding
for all aspects of the business. Nothing but good things will come from this re-union.

More horsepower...because the current models just don't get the job done eh If you ain't going 200MPH and diggin' mile deep ruts with 37" tires you ain't worth talking to or about. I still have a hard time believing people are dropping up to 35K on SXS's. Like lambs to the slaughter. Its no wonder this company is opting back in. Satiating ego's = $$$$$$

Textron already own Arctic Cat and BadBoy. Where they go from here is anybody's guess but it will likely be a game changer.

The newly formed company, named Bombardier Recreational Products, included all the activities started 60 years earlier by its founder. As of October 6, 2009, it had about 5,500 employees working;[1] its revenues in 2007 are above US$2.5 billion. BRP has manufacturing facilities in five countries: Canada, the United States (Wisconsin, Illinois, North Carolina), Mexico, Finland, and Austria. The company’s products are sold in more than 80 countries, 18 of which have their own direct-sales network.[2]
BRP has a long legacy of innovation and has multiple brands: Ski-Doo (snowmobiles), Can-Am motorcycles (ATVs and Spyder Roadsters), Sea-Doo (personal water craft and SportBoats), Lynx (snowmobile), Evinrude Outboard Motors, and Rotax. The Ski-Doo personal snowmobile brand is so iconic, especially in Canada, that it was listed in 17th place on the CBC's The Greatest Canadian Invention list in 2007.
