Inflatable Deer Decoy
I bought a Mr. October deer decoy on clearance for a whole $28.99, and was wondering if anyone has used them before. Seems it's the old style as it has C 2010 written on it. Has removable antlers so I can practically use it as a buck or doe. Seems realistic enough to fool my family.

I've never used inflatable decoys but if it looks like a deer it'll work.

I had my glendel buck destroyed last year by a buck and I just had a couple sticks stuck in it's head for antlers. Got up one morning and it was on the ground, blood all over it from the real deer, and the head was ripped off. Animals have a hard time distinguishing between real and fake.

I had a miss November inflatable and used it a few times, after a long walk there is no blowing it up if you don't bring a little pump, and if you fill it at home in the garage people look at you weird when it is riding in the passenger seat. if you leave it blown up in the box of the truck it blows away, then you are also walking with a full blown up deer in your arms.(you realize this half way through the field at legal light. (Funny times)
The one time I wish I had a video was when a small basket buck came up to it, sniffed around her and decided to mount on top,(I had a sent stick under her) the inflatable sunk to the ground, he jumped back and the inflatable popped into the air and landed back on her feet, he then proceeded to try mount again and the same thing happened. That poor little buck was so confused on what was happening, the third time miss November fell over and he ran away. This 20 minutes was priceless.

Sounds like it's worth it to get one just for entertainment value.

I blew mine up today and it's ok. There are stakes that come with it, not terrible as some people say these are. Maybe I'll get a second one and put them out as a doe and buck.

Canadian Tire in St. Albert but I went in to get the actual "spikes" to hold it in place ( forgot the name) and this was the last one in Canada, so I actually got a price adjustment to $15 lol. Can't complain about that haha.

Not sure if it's the same one. They checked in the system and no one had any left. One store said it had one but like always " was lost".

Imagine the fun you could have with one. For 30 bucks I would say cheap thrills. Set it up on a field edge and see how many guys take pop shots at it before it blows up!

That's exactly what I'm afraid of... seems like bow season is the only safer season to use it haha.

temperature will play with the inflation . If it cools down in the evenings they deflates a bit and require a top up or the legs collapse.. Now I use a home made one cut out of coreplast, {plastic cardboard} These work great, for Elk, moose and deer.

Did you paint/ color it yourself? I know I made snow goose decoys from coroplast, never big game decoys though.

http://peteward.com/Buckie%20the%20w...%20victim.html
I used plastic compatible spray bombs, My brother said they look like a 6 year old colored them, but they work great.
Deer have come up and sniffed Buckie before being arrowed. Sometimes the antics a buck will perform make it hard to shoot when you start laughing .Watching them sniff the backside, start making a scrape and peeing in it a few feet away from the decoy, thrashing a bush with their horns, all makes for some hard to hold in laughing.
A bull moose stomped Mona the moose into the dirt.
Elk have crossed a 1/4 section and come within 5 yards of Ellie the Elk.
For a moose use black coreplast, and for deer and elk use brown coreplast.
Rutting animals are thinking like a 16 year old that snuck into a bar and got liquored up. Not the smartest at this time of year.

That was a great story you posted. Thanks for sharing that. Way to stick with it (and stick it to your buddies)
