Awesome! Doesn't really matter how big the fish are, as long as you're having fun!

Beauty!
Are your sure that's a perch and not a peacock bass?
Great looking fish!

Ha! That's great. Don't feel bad about the facial expression, I've been fishing for about 40yrs and still get a goofy smile on my face when I catch a fish.
Congrats!!!

Nice perch. The sport of fishing has so many enjoyable moments. The wildlife- like watching Ospreys fishing on the same lake, and many other animal species while at the lake. Your persistence will pay off with a lot of trout soon. Thanks for posting.

Congrats on your first. That's a decent size perch. I think you have caught more Perch then most of us so far this season.

Well, I caught the smallest trout of the day, thank goodness it was an easy and quick release back into the water and away her went!
Went out to east pit for 6:00am. We went to the north shore, however we watched a guy on the south shore pull 13 out of the lake before we caught our first fish 5 hours later between the three of us that went! (Mind you he was able to cast about 4x's as far as I could!) I had a bunch of bites and my bait stolen more then should be legal. But I could literally go fishing ever week! I love this hobby, now to start slowly building my tackle box!!

Lakes like East pit I find are very good for fly fishing. I have not become capable of using a "fly rod", but a float (acting as a strike indicator) about 4-6 ft from a fly- Green or black leeches work great. Maintain your persistence and you will be rewarded. There are very nice sized trout in East pit.
