Upstream of 54 it's fast but crossable in places. For whites look for deep, slow water and bead heads will work fine for them.

Picked up some Browns on a streamer as well as whites on a nymph upstream from the bridge on HWY 54 last weekend. You really have to pick your crossings though - river was at 13m3/sec when we were there and now it's at 20m3/sec

I wouldn't drive from EDM to fish it at that level but if I was already in the area...I wouldn't drive by without trying...It just calls for a lot more weight to get the nymph down. Try about 300meters upstream from the bridge - nice pool that you can fish without crossing - always catch one or two whites there.

The river should be in good shape for fishing, recents rains may have made it a little dirty but still fishable imo. There are also some good spots for rockies right under the bridge, just be careful of you do try to cross. I like the river at the trunk road furthur west, also a bridge on rig street with some good water.

Ive also caught whitefish upstream of the bridge. Beadhead nymphs in tandem, pinch weight and indicator was my set up and should work. Good luck!

Another spot on the Clearwater worth trying is a few miles north of Caroline on HWY 22 then drive east into Chedderville recreation area. Have to walk a bit but fishable. Google maps shows chedderville.

seen a post yesterday on snow and mud that the rig street road has been cut/dug out to reduce flooding.
