Took a newbie out last year and he only had his general whitey tag even though I told him to get the two supplemental "anterless" tags. His first deer was a nice fat doe and he had to put his general on it. I took him straight to the sporting goods store in town to get his supplemental tags after that. A couple days later we're standing out in the wind waiting to get a shot at another antlerless whitey about 250 yards away (was head down feeding with it's butt pointing directly at us so he was waiting for a nice broadside) when a real nice buck walks out of the bush at half that distance.
I'm taking him out again this year and he's advised me he already purchased his tags and made sure to get both general and supplemental this time......LOL
The one supplemental tag I used last year was a young "button buck".
