Check the RCMP renewal site info and it has the exact specs for the selfie you need to do. If you have a Restricted also send your range membership etc info and save some time.

You can actually download a passport photo app on your iphone for free. Works great and I had my new PAL/RPAL in less than 3 weeks

I just hung a white towel over the bathroom door, stood against it so that I was facing the mirror.....least that way I could see how goofy I looked...lol and used the camera to take some selfies.....kept the one that matched the RCMP qualification best and attached it to my application.....emailed it off, no problems. Got my renewal a few weeks later. Wife did the same for hers.

There is no way to attach your range membership with an electronic renewal.

Last time I sent a copy of my range membership with a paper renewal the wonder children at a the CFC conveniently lost it and I got the snot o gram by snail mail.
Remember the process is the punishment.

I emailed mine here when I sent in my renewal: cfpcfounit@rcmp-grc.gc.ca

Yes you can, but there is no place or instructions on the web renewal to do so.

Why is that?

It’s because the anti gun bureaucrats want us to beat our heads against the walls they put in place.

Completely agree. Should be a simple spot to attach it in the renewal application. Also no reason for the renewal to take 3 months.

It can be attached to the electronic renewal as a scanned JPEG but you have to know how and Ken is right that there are no instructions to do it or how.

Good to know. I thought you could only have one attachment.

Don't feel bad, I didn't figure it out till after I did mine either. Had to Email mine in, also sent it by fax with the app ID, just to be double sure. I got caught in the "Supposed" printer problems scam. Mine got renewed in about three weeks but it took the email and fax plus two phone calls to eventually get the actual card almost 4 months after the initial application. That is why I was trying to give others a heads up.

Did my RPAL renewal on line this year for the first time. Sent it in late August, got confirmation pretty much right away that they received it. Got a letter from the CFO a couple of weeks ago stating I needed to send in a copy of my range membership. Faxed it off a few days later and received card in the mail yesterday. Likely would have received it sooner if I had to send in a copy of my range membership initially. All in all pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the info and help guys. Stood up against the barn door, snapped a selfie and filled out the application. Received confirmation it was received, as was payment. Very easy process. Now the wait....

And here I just paid $12 to get a passport photo done... Well at least they shouldn't complain that the photo is not as required...
