Browning BPS jamming issue

Anyone with recommendations on how to solve this nagging problem that continues to cost me birds?

My relatively new (2017 purchased) browning BPS is continuing to jam after 2 different chamber polishes by a gunsmith. About 1 in every 10 shots, I will go to rack the slide after pulling the trigger, and the slide is bound right up. With force (either a hard pull or sadly smacking the buttstock on my boot), the shell eventually ejects. I am devestated as this puts a major wrench in my ability to hunt dead in the heat of hunting season.

This happens with ammo of all power and brands. It's a gun issue.

Any suggestions? What might be wrong or gunsmiths in Calgary area that can get it fixed right and soon?

This Browning shotgun has been a complete and utter disappointment. Was warrantied within the first few months of ownership for misfiring problems and now this. Is browning too focused on making hats and stickers to make quality guns anymore? Ugh!!

I have never had an issue with my BPS, but I had one with my 870 that sounds familiar. The ammo was what I was having issues with. It had short brass on it, and it caused the plastic hull to swell ahead of it, in the chamber and jam. I had to hold the fore-stock and slam the but on the ground to make it eject. Just spitballing, may not be your issue at all....but my BPS has never had an issue feeding. Since you say it happens with all Ammo, I'm guessing this isn't your issue, but I am surprised that a BPS is giving you grief. It's a solid and usually reliable platform.

Probably not what you want to hear but I'd be getting a new shotgun and take the loss if Browning won't warranty or fix it. Nothing worse than no faith it your gun.

Of trying another barrel you could borrow and see if that's the culprit?

I call my Browning BPS the “Jam O Matic” it sounds like a different jamming issue than you have...I just don’t stroke it long and hard enough..I can’t believe I just wrote that but it’s true...that gun needs a firm hand.

When my 870 was new, it would do this too.
Winchester shells were the worst, federals didn't do too bad.
A few hundred rounds through it broke it in.

To date I have had it happen on:

Challenger target loads, winchester super x steel, federal upland loads, and a variety of others.

Hopefully it can be fixed soon. I have heard bad things about browning warranty after a year has passed... youd assume a foremost firearms maker like that would stand by their guns for a lifetime against defect.

I have seen this with several different shotguns and it appears to be an ammo issue in most cases . It’s usually the less expensive ammo . It expands too much at the base and grasps the chamber walls. Polishing doesn’t help. I have not tried it yet but lengthening the forcing cone may help. When you find ammo that works stick with it ( kinda a pun there )

The gun is being shipped to Browning and I am receiving a brand new BPS in return. Excellent service by Browning. I'm quite impressed.

A good chamber polishing with green compound is worth a try.
I had an 870 that would do what you described when I shot 3".
A piece of leather on a dowel spun with a drill will work.

Same issue with my BOS. Bought new last year and during the first 3 hunts, I was ready to throw this thing in the lake. Was shooting Winchester xpert 3”, #4, 1&1/4 once. I switched ammo over to Kent and Hevisteel and she hadn’t skipped a beat since. I also think it was part of a break in process. I shot numerous rounds of clays and had it in 4 shoots this fall. Probably 5-600 rounds now and no issues.
