I was just reading on a Canadian Metal detecting group that Jamaica (sp) has passed a law forbidding non-residents from detecting it's country & waterways. They will confiscate all detector's at the airport and return them to the owner's when they board to leave. Other country's might be following suit.

The guys who I know who have that detector only use it in water. I think it’s “somewhat” specialized for that purpose and you might not do well on land.

Don’t forget shops will sell you the most expensive machine they can often even if it’s nit the best fro your purposes. My brother in laws dad went in and asked for “the best” they sold him a pulse induction detector for 5K. He can’t even figure out how to turn it on..

I haven't spoken to any shops yet, just reviews and videos. I will continue looking, but my primary use would be diving, I believe.

And walking/snorkeling beaches in front of resorts, lol.
