I'm no target or 3D expert by any means but what I've found in past year has
made a big difference for me as a hunter.
I've been using a 6" stab on my SBXT 2006 and DXT 2009 until last year,
just swapped it out for which ever bow I was shooting any given year.
It worked fine as far as it dampened shock and noise and helped hold my
bow arm steady.
I picked up a 12" B-stinger this past winter and have to say it made as much
of a difference as adding a peep sight did years ago. It closed my groups in
the horizontal as much as adding a peep closed my groups in the vertical.
They both helped in a noticable way that I could see.
They both took a few days of shooting to see the effects but after about
2-3 days it was clear.
1. Adding a peep site helped me set my draw arm anchor consistently (Vertical control).
2. Adding a longer stab with total less mass weight and most weight out on the for front
end farther out worked to stop left and right sway of the bow hand (Horizontal control).
I'm currently using a 12" b-stinger on the front with no back or side bar.
You may need something totally different to balance your bow.
Lot's of folks go with a 12" x 8" front and back and have more weight on the
back than the front. All depeneds upon how the bow feels and shoots for you.
Quiver on or off makes a diff. too.
