I don't know how to respond to that without questioning your sobriety. And, the last time I did that my post disappeared

How do you convince a student to only buy Canadian products, when he/she will be lucky to afford a place to live, clothing to wear, and food to feed a family after what are current federal and provincial governments are doing to destroy our economy? He/she will be lucky if they have enough money to purchase cheap Chinese products.

Just because people don't share the same worldview as you doesn't mean they are pessimists.

BTW, I'm teaching special needs kids students the skills to get entry level kitchen jobs.

Answer me this question, what type of personal vehicles do you drive?

I guess that would depend on what the net affect of it was. I can't get too worked up one way or the other without knowing more about Canadian manufactured drywall.

And maybe substitute "we are" for "I am", not everybody buys cheap junk.
From their website:

Initially, Dyson vacuum cleaners and washing machines were made in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. In 2002, the company transferred vacuum cleaner production to Malaysia.

Like I said, you have the same position as the extreme left wing James Laxer of the NDP.

Our market is not large enough to have many of plants you are hoping for. Same reason we don't have more refineries here. It doesn't make economical sense.

Just checked. Your truck is likely made in Mexico. Saltilla, to be exact. So much for buying Canadian. I guess the good news is your 300 is made in Canada.

On the inside, by the VIN number.....'Made In Mexico'.

How funny is that right there?

You'll be happy to know that Trudeau took over 300 Liberal staff and supporters to Paris and signed the Paris Accord, so there is no longer smog, smoke or other air pollution.

He's fixed it.

Seriously? What do you think would happen if everyone was isolationist? Our oil would stay in the ground, our farms would not be able to sell to the world, our lumber industry would die, our mining industry, and what little of what we manufacture would.

Our standard of living would plummet. Think about it. How much of what we do is earns people and families here a living because of globalization.

Isn't that what you are after? All those trains, trucks, and boats contribute to pollution.

Which is bad. So bad. Unsustainable bad.

On top of that they may never be hired by a Canadian as an employee because they are not a real Canadian.
