Interesting unit a classic in its own right, I don't ever remember seeing of one these before.
A little more info here
The Beetle has a 1600cc dual port engine donated by a VW bus and is able to maintain 50-55 mph (80-85 km/h) on the highway.
As long as you stay out of the left lane you should be okay.
