Default Anyone know what kind of spider this is?

Found this guy, and a few of his friends, in my garage. Don't really mind, but would like to know what it is.

Deadly! Run for your life!

just kidding, it's a cat spider. Or a jewel spider. Completely harmless, and very cool to watch.

I never kill spiders in my house. They are likely killing a lot of other stuff I don't want.

Wasn't sure of the type of spider she was but I think "she" is going to have a little cluster of newborns running around the shop soon.

Cool, thanks. One has made a huge web along the back of the garage and just sits in the middle all the time. Avoided the door, so it's fine for now haha

A few years back my wife and I were visiting her relatives in Ontario. One evening a spider just like the one pictured descended from somewhere onto Ol' Uncle Frank. Well, Ol' Aunt Lois had one of those battery powered-tennis racket-bug zappers. It was quite the light show to say the least.

Great looking spider, Back when I was up in GP we used to have massive cat back spiders in the yard. My kids would catch grasshoppers and put them in the webs. awesome sight to see the big spiders rush out to wrap them up

We had well fed spiders and both my kids developed a fascination for arachnids.
