Default Dewitt's Pond today - video

I am slowly getting better with every cast. It is hard to pass up going to Dewitt's Pond when it is so close. I went there for an hours and a half and had some success. I caught 3 rainbows and missed 4. all my misses were due to a bent hook. I was even able to get a bit of it on video.

Also I replaced my 15 year old fly line today and man does the new line ever want to fly. It's almost as if I have to force the line to not cast out so far.

Anyway here is a link to my video... https://youtu.be/ZVoBm_DXRN0

100% addicted. I have caught me fish in the last three weekends (10) fly fishing that I have in the flats 3 years of spin fishing. I know it's only going to get more addicting as I start fishing moving water.

I also finally have a good excuse to use my GoPro I bought 2 years ago. I like shooting video and plan to do more videos of my fishing.

No carp that I have seen or heard about. There are new trout in the pond as well as trout from last year. My first day fishing there was the weekend prior to stocking and the last two times there were after. The numbers of trout are definitely reducing but luckily I have had not been skunked yet.

I took my son there for a little bit yesterday as well. Not quite as close as you as we are in the deep SE, but I wanted to go to BPS anyway.

With his new rod he got a couple of nibbles but didn't catch anything. I had my rod out for about 10 minutes and had a few fish interested but nothing took. We both need to work on our laying down of the line and picking the right flies.

Thanks for the video! Nicely done!

Beautiful day and calm, quiet waters.

I have found that if the wind is up enough to ripple the surface the fish won't take dry flies. If it is calm or there is a lull in the wind the fish attack hard.

Thanks Jason. I am hoping to put out some better quality videos in the future. This was more of a test of my equipment and video software.

No. It's too small. A float tube would probably be to big. There is lots of shore to fish from.
